empowering women to discover their voice

It's about this time of the year after I made my New Year resolution to eat healthy and try to lose a few pounds where I get hungry, cranky, and depressed over the grey dreary winter and want to eat to make myself feel better. It's hard to keep that willpower going but I try through thinking about the clothes I want to wear but are too tight and that spring will soon be here with the more revealing clothes I will want to wear. Not to mention that at forty I need to take better care of my health.

How do you stick to a healthy diet when all you want to do it nosh?

Laina..First stop beating yourself up, acknowledging this is a challenge is half the battle...When I get the urge to " nosh" I usually get out of the house and take a walk..or put on my favorite music ( rolling stones) and dance... do something else for myself like a manicure or pedicure , sometimes a facial, or hair treatment.. Another trick is JELLO , you can add fruit or vegs to it , the calories are minimal and it fills you up.( great for healthy nails)..and don't forget H20 with lemon and crushed ice, that takes the edge off..put on some relaxing music, sit back and imagine how great you will look when you reach your goal..Another trick is get on the computer and start blogging, it is surprising how fast 2 hours can fly by..and you can't eat when your hands are busy...haha..By the way YOU don't look forty !!! hope this helped...

Well I commend you for sticking with it. I think what's really important is sticking to a commitment. Even your willpower fails you one day if you keep going I think it gets easier. Then when the next challenge comes you can say hey I made it through last winter I can do this again. I have been trying to be healthier about what I eat and by doing something that keeps me physically active everyday but I am not very good at it. I go through cycles of doing really well then terrible so now I just try to go day by day and really reflect on the choices I have made so far and how each one will impact my final goal. For me I have to really desire it because I can always find clothes that make me look nice but how I feel internally really suffers when I'm not monitoring my daily habits. Thanks this post is encouraging to me.
