Jess Weaver commented on Elise Richard's blog post False Compensation Claims Cost Our Taxes Millions Every Year
"This is a very interesting post. My hubby is a manager at a grocery store and most of the claims are from people that do not even work there. Like a lady slips on a grape or someone gets mad because you will not let them buy alcohol. I think…"

A. Alford commented on Elise Richard's blog post False Compensation Claims Cost Our Taxes Millions Every Year
"I think the main problems are that people will blame the wrong the wrong person for an accident or discrimination because they want to go after whoever has the most money of course and then so many times they aren't really resolving the…"

A. Alford commented on Elise Richard's blog post Happiness, Not Just Wealth Will Now Be Used To Gauge Success.
"Simply fascinating. Generally I feel happy. I think real happiness has to do with a deep, inner contentment that can't be satsified by trying to control things. People have expectations from family, friends, how much money you make, but you…"

A. Alford commented on Elise Richard's blog post Who Do You Blame When You Have An Accident?
"Well I agree with this. It's sort of the way I feel about lawsuits in general. I think the real aim should be to make things a little more fair and encourage responsibile parties to make the corrections need to keep people safe. Paying an…"

Karen Rector commented on Elise Richard's blog post Happiness, Not Just Wealth Will Now Be Used To Gauge Success.
"What are the sayings? "Money can't buy you love." "Money is the root of all evil." I'm certain there are many more and yet, we persist in measuring success by how much money we've acculmulated as evidenced by the…"

Who Do You Blame When You Have An Accident?

Most people have accidents from time to time, some of us, myself included, are just naturally clumsy and put up with constant bruises and scuffs about our person, clothing and property. I’m down with it, I never learned to drive because I can see that me behind the wheel of a car would be a recipe for disaster. I fall off of my bike fairly regularly as it is so adding a multitude of horsepowers into the mix would never end well. It’s probably evolutionary, those of us with rubbish spatial…See More

I've Tried Stopping Shopping But It's Got Me Beat!

Every-one’s worried about making savings these days, it’s been three years since the banks started this horror story and we’re still all having to downgrade our standard of living while we pay for their mistakes. We’ve all had to stop treating ourselves, stopped shopping at premium stores in favour of cheaper, more economic equivalents which hardly seem like equivalents at-all! Ask any kid to compare premium and economy ketchup, baked beans or mayonnaise, you don’t need the palate of a Michelin…See More

Thinking About A Post Break-Up Break?

You’ve just come through a devastating divorce or break-up with a long term partner, you need to get away, so what are you going to do?You’ve a couple of options, you could:1, Go stay with your mother, eat your own weight in chocolate cake while she harangues/sympathises with you, reminding you that she never liked him and you should have gone with that nice boy who’s now a dotcom millionaire.2, Go out, drink too much and adhere to your slutty friends’ advice that ‘the best way to get over…See More

False Compensation Claims Cost Our Taxes Millions Every Year

City and town councils and local authorities are being financially crippled by compensation claims, draining money from services that the authorities are already having to reduce thanks to the government’s swingeing cuts on budgets.

The situation is exemplified by the case of Wayne Parthum, an ethics commissioner who has now sued the city of Berwyn twice. In February he sued the City when he was hurt by a tree limb. For that incident he was awarded $3,675. Unfortunate Mr Parthum was…

Happiness, Not Just Wealth Will Now Be Used To Gauge Success.

David Cameron said, when elected, that he was going to take an audit of the happiness and wellbeing of the nation. Well, he couldn’t have picked a worse time, what with the economic climate globally, it’s not called a depression for nothing! But does he have a point?

The traditional measure of success is the amount of money you have, the size of the house you live in and what job you do. But in the same way that the IQ test is biased toward a certain social demographic, is measuring…
